Welcome to the 17th International Conference
on Systems, Signals and Image Processing, IWSSIP 2010. Welcome to
Rio de Janeiro – Brazil!
IWSSIP'10 brings together researchers and developers from both academia
and industry to report on the latest scientific and theoretical
advances, to discuss and debate major issues and to demonstrate
state-of-the-art systems.
The 2010 conference takes place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from
the 17th to the 19th of June. The IWSSIP 2010 is organized by the
Federal Fluminense University - UFF, Brazil, in co-operation with
SBC, ABCM, LATEC, ABEPRO, IEEE Latin America Transactions and IEEE
Region 9 / Latin American / South Brazil Section and Bahia Section.
The conference is sponsored by CAPES-MEC, Computer Institute-IC and PROPPI/
UFF.
The IWSSIP’2010 proceedings include invited lectures by eminent
experts and peer reviewed contributed papers on related topics.
All papers were evaluated by at least two reviewers. After reviewing
process, the Editorial Committee has selected 126 papers from 192
submitted. The papers are from 38 countries and are mainly in the
following topics: Signal Processing, Artificial Intelligence Technologies,
Image and Video Processing and Coding. We would like to express
our thanks to all the reviewers for their kindly effort within the
review process.
We hope that this meeting will be useful for those interested in
the state-of-the-art of theoretical, experimental and applied signal,
systems and image processing techniques.
Finally, we wish to all participants a pleasant time in Rio de Janeiro,
enjoying our conference, taking the opportunity to establish contacts
and to make new friends!
